Find The Sleeping Survivor

Oswald Anders is the first survivor and Craftsperson that you rescue from an Ancient Vault. He is located in the Ancient Vault - Blacksmith, not far from where you emerge from the Cinder Vault. After his rescue, he will direct you to find other survivors.

Oswald crafts a variety of Armor and Weapons for melee-centric characters. He also assists you in crafting new tools such as a Glider and a Grappling Hook to increase your chances of survival and to better traverse the world.

Oswald offers Quests to recover his Smithing Tools, a Forge, and a Smelter to forge new Armor, Weapons, Shields and Magical Wards, Axes, Pickaxes, Rakes, and Decorations.
