Reaching the Spire

Traveling to the Revelwood Ancient Spire may be one of the more challenging journeys of the early game, especially since most first-time players will not have explored Revelwood to any great degree if at all before attempting the trip. This method will get you to the Spire more efficiently than some of the other possible options.

Preparation:

  • Strengthen your Flame to tier 3.
  • Have a Glider or Advanced Glider.
  • Place a forward altar at Ancient Vault - Farmer, if you do not have one already.
  • Sleep and provision yourself before your trip - you will want daylight, water, and rest for your journey.
  • Consider respeccing to Double Jump before your trip - it will make both reaching and climbing the Spire much easier.
  • Have a bow and arrows, or a staff and charges of Fireball or Ice Bolt, for activating switches in the Spire.

1. From Ancient Vault - Farmer travel directly north to Willow Crush.

Starting at the respawn orb in front of the vault, circle around the building starting westward, run through Withered Encampment, and follow the road heading north.

2. Pass through Willow Crush to the bridge into Revelwood.

Once you pass through the ruined wall into the town, stick to the righthand wall and continue north. Once you reach the Shrouded crevasse, turn left and follow the edge to the bridge.

3. Cross the bridge.

At the first large gap, drop down to the lower level, jump across the gap, and then climb up the ladder to your right. From the middle section of the bridge, do not jump to the northern bridge section; instead, jump and glide northeast to the island. Take a running jump north across the last gap and then carefully circle the bridgehouse east and north. (The alternative to these shenanigans, if you just stay on the bridge proper, is a challenging fight with at least two Green Meanies.)

4. Continue to the Spire.

You can now clearly see the Spire to your northeast. Follow the clifftop north and east until you reach a rock wall just northeast of the Carpentry Camp. Drop straight down to your right, using your glider at the last moment to break your fall, and then continue north along the same rock wall until you see the Spire. The Spire entrance is on the north side.
