Fishing
Fishing is a gameplay mechanic that allows players to catch fish and other items from bodies of water throughout Embervale. Use a fishing rod at any body of water (including player-made ponds at your base) and left click to cast and begin fishing. Upon a successful catch, players may obtain fish or other items, determined by the bait used. Fishing was introduced in the Wake Of Water Update.

How to Fish
- Collect insects or frogs to use as Bait, or craft your own. Simple Fishing Bait
is made through Manual Crafting, while higher tier Fishing Baits are crafted by the Fisher. Once collected, Fishing Bait can be equipped through your inventory. - Approach any body of water and cast the Fishing Rod (hold the left mouse button by default).
- Wait until a fish or other item is hooked.
- If a fish is hooked, you will be prompted to reel it in (left mouse button by default). Move the Fishing Rod in the direction opposite the fish (either A or D key by default) until the fish's stamina reaches zero (the red bar is depleted). You will then be prompted to land the fish (left mouse button by default). The fish will get away if your stamina reaches zero first (the green bar is depleted).
- If any other item is hooked, you will be prompted to land it without needing to reel it in.
Fishing Rods
Fishing Rods are required to fish. Each rod has two stats: Fishing Strength determines how quickly the fish's stamina (the red bar) is depleted when reeling in the fish, while Fishing Endurance determines how quickly your stamina (the green bar) is depleted.
Each rod also has two additional hidden stats: The Wet Boot Weight determines how often you will land a Wet Boot
, while the Other Items weight determines how often you will land items other than fish or the Wet Boot
(see below for the full list).
There are currently 5 available fishing rods.
