Enshrouded:About
Enshrouded Wiki is the official wiki for Enshrouded. Anyone can edit the wiki and all are encouraged to do so!
The wiki was founded on 4 October 2023 with the aim of providing a source of Enshrouded help, and is the oldest one to do so. Through the efforts of the rapidly growing editing community, the wiki soon became the most popular fansite for Enshrouded. Coverage of new Game Updates can be completed swiftly and, over time, the wiki has continually expanded to document Enshrouded in even greater detail.
- There are currently 1,853 articles and 2,091 files on the wiki.
- 21,629 edits have been made to 4,526 pages in total.
- There are 28 currently active users.
Editing the wiki
Anyone can make changes to the wiki by using the edit button at the top of the page. The default editing interface used is VisualEditor, which behaves similarly to a word processor (e.g. Microsoft Word). While editing, changes can be previewed. Changes have to be saved before they appear to other users of the wiki; each change becomes a new version in the page's history and can easily be reversed if needed.
More advanced edits can be made by switching to Source Mode editing. The wiki runs on editing software called MediaWiki, which uses a markup language called wikitext to determine how to display pages. In Source Mode, wikitext is visible and can be edited directly in the editing interface. A cheat sheet of commonly used wikitext syntax can be found here.
A guide on editing can be found here.

- Check out our for more help on how to edit.
- Our Discord server can be used to ask questions about the wiki.
- What should I edit?
- Special:WantedPages contains a list of missing pages.
- The Todo section on Discord has some long-term projects that we are working on.
- has a list of various maintenance categories used across the wiki.
- Creating an account
You do not have to register an account to edit the wiki. However, editing without an account will publicly attribute the edit as being made by your IP address. When editing while logged into a wiki account, your edits will be attributed to that account. You can also set your preferences for things such as time zone and date format.
How the wiki is run
- Who hosts the wiki?
This wiki is operated by Wiki.gg, While editing, wiki users must abide by their Terms of service.
- User groups
Some actions are restricted to users who are part of particular user groups. For example, only registered users (users who are logged into an account) can upload files to the wiki. The administrator (also called sysop) role is required to do things such as block and unblock users and IP addresses from editing; to delete and restore pages and images; protect and unprotect content from being edited; and determine consensus when closing a Yew Grove discussion. For information about other user groups on the wiki, see here.
Wiki infrastructure
- Namespaces
The wiki has a number of different namespaces relating to different areas of content on the wiki. Most pages, including all pages relating to Enshrouded content, are in the "mainspace". Other namespaces include:
- User
- This namespace is used for pages about individual wiki users. Lists of actions on special pages that identify users will link to their corresponding user pages.
- Project
- This namespace is for information about the wiki itself, often used for pages documenting policies, guidelines, copyrights, and other meta-discussions. By default, it will automatically redirect to a namespace with the same name as the wiki.
- File
- This namespace hosts metadata about uploaded files. It also provides the history of changes to the file.
- MediaWiki
- This namespace hosts interface messages and sitewide CSS, JS, and JSON files. This namespace can only be edited by administrators. Certain pages in this namespace can only be edited by staff; see the full list.
- Template
- This namespace allows for the creation of Special:Templates, which can then be transcluded on pages.
- Help
- This namespace hosts help pages. It should only be used for wiki-specific help pages. General help pages should be documented on wiki.gg's support wiki.
- Category
- This namespace contains Special:Categories, which are dynamic lists of other pages. To facilitate this, linking directly to a category page does not output an inline link but instead includes the page in the associated category page. So, the code
[[Category:Help]]
causes a category link to appear at the bottom of the page, in the box marked "Categories". Clicking on that link takes you to the category page, where this page is visible in the category list. - Module
- This namespace is added by Extension:Scribunto and is used to store Lua modules, which can then be invoked and used as alternatives to wikitext templates. Modules should be used for more complex templates.
See here for further information on namespaces.
- Talk pages
Talk pages exist for all of the wikis' namespaces. They can be accessed by using the Talk, Discussion or Discuss this page link at the top of any page. Talk pages can be used to discuss the associated content. User talk pages also exist for all registered users and can be used to communicate directly with other users.
- Special pages
Special pages are tools that can be used to view things that are going on in the wiki or to perform specific functions:
- Special:RecentChanges - view a list of the latest edits to the wiki and who they have been made by.
- Special:NewFiles - view the most recent file uploads to the wiki.
- Special:Upload - create a new file.
- Special:WhatLinksHere - view what other pages link to a page.
See here for a list of all special pages.
- User pages
Registered users have their own user page! You can find your user page using Special:Mypage or by clicking your account name at the top of the page while using the wiki. You can find out more about user pages here.
